Israeli cosmetics firm calls for Dead Sea to be renamed
An Israeli cosmetics manufacturer is lobbying for the Dead Sea to be renamed in order to dispel the myth that it is a barren lake.
Containing 21 minerals, the Dead Sea provides Minus 417 with a varied palette of beautifying ingredients but the manufacturer is afraid that the name of the lake is misleading and bad for business.
In its online petition to rename the Dead Sea, Minus 417 also calls on people to help change attitudes towards the spa resort and even Israel itself.
