Italy-based packaging provider Bormioli Rocco has introduced a line of 100 per cent recyclable PET bottles and roll-ons to meet growing demand for sustainable packaging.

The company is a leading player in the supply of plastic packaging to the food and pharmaceuticals industry, but says that recyclable packaging for the personal care market is turning into a key focus.

The newly launched PET bottles and roll-ons are an example of its quest to invest in new low-impact materials as well as the use of advanced industrial processing technologies

100 per cent recyclable

Bormioli Rocco claims its plastics division was the first in Italy to offer 100 per cent post consumer recycled PET bottles, which have been developed in such a way that the transparency surpasses other similar offerings on the market.

The company says it is tapping into the consumer driven trend for packaging that is eco-friendly, whilst not compromising the all-important appearance and overall quality of the packaging.

Increasingly a more environmentally aware consumer is considering the packaging contents of the products they buy, which means that recyclable packaging is getting more and more popular, often being overlooked by similar product offerings that are not in environmentally-friendly packaging.

Maintaining aesthetics

This means that, while being totally recyclable, its PET packaging is also said to have the aesthetic qualities of smoothness and clarity associated with virgin PET packaging.

Its new roll-on offering is easy to use, and integrates well with leading edge technologies, while the manufacturing process itself uses a system that reduces production time while optimizing resources.

It is also assembled using a single process and then compression fitted into the filled bottle and comes in two standard formats with a 50ml capacity.
