Leading cosmetics and toiletries contract player Creative
Outsourcing Solutions International (Cosi), has announced it is
aiming its red, metallic colour concepts for its Autumn/Winter 2007
ranges directly at the leading trends on the catwalk for the
season.

Workshops were held in Paris for international brand owners, where the company explained how it had gained inspiration from the fabrics, textures and colours of different collections on the catwalk, and has designed two new ranges to collaborate with the mainstream fashion trends.

Bev Paddon, product development manager at Cosi said, "We have replicated the look, feel and crucially the textures of 2007/08 trends in the cosmetic products developed by our team of experienced scientists".

Cosi, based in the UK, unveiled two new ranges, 'Curator' and 'Urban Angel', which focus on two differing fashion styles and feature colours that pick up on each different trend.

Manufacturers are being advised to take note of socio-economic trends within the industry, a feature that the company has based the Curator range around.

The line consists of mascara, blush, foundation and lip smudges, which come in reds and metallic colours that mirror the heavy fabrics from the catwalk.

Similarily, the Urban Angel range picks up on the 'street' trend that is often featured in the fashion world around the autumn/winter period and focuses on heavy eyes and lips with metalics and electric shades.

The colour concepts are a way of the company portraying its awareness of the intrinsic link between the beauty and fashion industry, and further consolidating themselves as market leaders in the cosmetic manufacturing field.

Other such companies have also based colour collections on 'themes', with Germany based cosmetics house, ArtDeco previously basing its Spring/Summer 2007 collection on a floral theme, to represent the trend of the summer season.

Cosi has undertaken rapid expansion in recent years as it taps into the trend for brand owners to increasingly contract all aspects of manufacturing in a bid to centralize the process, increase synergies, and ultimately, save money.
