Anti-ageing patches are here!

A partnership between an Israeli and a South Korean company has
come up with what is claimed to be a first - anti-ageing patches
that target specific areas of the face.

The Age Away Program Patch is based on technology that incorporates Israel-based PowerCosmetics Power Patch technology, which comprises a thin flexible battery into the a patch to create what is termed a 'prestige product'.

The claim is that the Power Patch demonstrates the capability to combine specific anti-ageing cosmetic ingredients with the unique printed battery concept.

The technology is being incorporated by Amore Pacific, currently the largest cosmetics company in South Korea.

"Our relationship with Amore Pacific represents an ideal collaboration, sharing R&D and production proficiencies to deliver customized prestige cosmetics products," said Yoram Karmon, CEO of Power Paper, which owns PowerCosmetics.

Karmon appeared at last week's In-Cosmetics show, where he spoke about his company's latest technology as part of the event's innovations conferencing.

The event also provided a platform to showcase the technology, which caught the eye of many industry experts, particularly given the growing interest in innovation that is currently driving growth within the industry.

The Power Patch technology incorporates ultra-thin, micro-electronic power cells, which combined with Amore's Hera spot serum targets specific areas of facial wrinkling.

It is said to be self-activating when applided to the skin and delivers a mild direct current to the upper layers of the skin that provides an immediate reduction in the appearance of wrinkles as well as providing long-term efficacy.

In particular the patch targets wrinkling around the delicate skin area around the eyes, reducing the appearance of crow's feet to leave smoother, younger-looking skin.

Power Patch technology has already been incorporated into a similar product launched by Estee Lauder in the US at the beginning of the year.

Although Amore has been the first to launch in the Asia Pacific region, the Estee Lauder Perfectionist Power Correcting Patch is due to launched in Europe later this month.

Whether or not this technology will prove to be long-term hit is anyone's guess, but with the keen interest presently revolving around it seems inevitable that we will be seeing more of these patches in the future.
