Leading UK retailer is extending its range of lipsticks and nail
varnish, aiming to keep apace with the impending new ranges that
will be the focus of high-street fashion in the coming season.

The range will include three new lipsticks, two new lipglazes and two new nail polish shades that have been combined to harmonise with the colour of designer wear that is expected to make the transition from the catwalk to the high streets in the coming months.

"It's all about harmonizing the colours with the fabrics that will be popular next season, like tweeds, chiffons and velvets," said Barbara Daly, the celebrity make-up artist who puts her name to the Tesco range.

"Rich shades will be on everyones lips and nails. Look out for deep reds and berries, vintage pinks and golden shades. The look is subtle and sophisticated."

Reflecting these themes, the new lipstics have been named Crush, Darling and Muse, with each retailing at £4.50 (€6.50) for a 3.2 gramme stick.

Crush is a berry shade, featuring rich reds that match colours for the autumn/winter period, while Darling is described as a vintage pink to compliment chiffons and velvet, and Muse is a soft gold created to harmonise with autumnal russets and burn orange.

The two lip glazes, Promise and Bashful, will retail at £4.00 each, and have both been formulated to combine with the new lipsticks at the same time as adding a subtle tint when used on its own, or an extra shine when combined with lipstick.

The two new nail polishes have also been designed to match the lipsticks and will retail at £3.50 for an 11 ml bottle of fast-drying and long-lasting formula.

Envy is a soft red colour that combines coppery and pink reflections, while Wistful is a dusky pink, infused with pink and gold pearls.

Barbara Daly shot to fame as the make-up artist for the late Princess of Wales and has been working with Tesco since 2000. The success of her pairing with the retailer has made the ranges some of the best-sellers in the UK.
