Brazilian cosmetics and personal care company Beraca Ingredients
has launched a new line of active ingredients sourced primarily
from the Brazilian rainforests and said to be completely natural,
reports Simon Pitman.

The range includes four new formulations, one for treating dandruff, an anti-acne formula, a skin revitalizing formula and a hair care treatment, all of which are being launched on a global basis, with a particular emphasis on both European and North American markets.

"Performance Systems is a line of multifunctional systems, developed by Beraca with the purpose of making the productive process easier, costs feasible and to minimize storage space," Filipe Sabará, Beraca Ingredient's marketing director told CosmeticDesign.com.

"The Performance System ingredients are absolutely new and have been developed using the company's knowledge of natural Brazilian ingredients and the specific market requirements for actives," Sabará added.

Sabará also emphasised that in sourcing its ingredients from the Brazilian rain forests, the company is also adheres to guidelines enforced by the Forest Stewardship Council, an organisation that overseas the strict management and sustainability of the world's rainforest resources.

Turning to the new ingredients, ADA System is an anti-dandruff treatment that is rich in a special active treatment for dry or oily scalps that develop dandruff. Actives include beta-cariophylene, obtained from copaiba, as well as oil and selenium from castanha do para oil. The formulation helps fight fungus found in scalps that is often attributed to dandruff.

Triple A System is an anti-acne treatment made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, including actives that treat oily skin that forms pimples. The active ingredients also include beta-cariophylene, as well as flavonoid extracted from acai oil and andirobina liminoid, obtained from andirobina oil. The actives in this formulation help to regulate oil secretion, fight the acne, soothe inflammation and also help to cleanse the skin.

The company says that its ARS Body System contains the same flavonoids, together with gama-oryzanol - an antioxidant, rice oil and omega-6 extracted from passion fruit oil to help regenerate skin.

For haircare the ARS System relies on totally natural ingredients, that again include flavanoid, gama-oryzanol, rice oil and omega-6 in a formula that is said to provide added moisture, nutrive, regenerative and antioxidant properties for hair.

Just launched on the global market, the ingredients are available through local distributors in 24 countries, including the US, Argentina, UK, Germany, France, Poland, China and Japan.
