Cosmetochem launches plant milk range

Swiss cosmetics ingredients provider Cosmetochem International is
using next week's In-Cosmetics show in Berlin as the launching pad
for its new range of natural plant milks, Herbamilk, reports
Simon Pitman.

The new palette of naturally derived ingredients is the second generation of plant milks to be developed by the company and have been formulated with an extensive range of plant extracts and oils to form stable milky emulsions.

Cosmetochem says that a virtually unlimited combination of plant extracts and oils allows for tremendous scope for cosmetic formulators searching for natural and easily compatible ingredients.

The Herbamilk range has no PEGs - a compound that is a known carcinogen - and only contains plant-derived emulsifiers, which means it complies with a variety of cosmetics regulations as well as fulfilling formulators needs for non-allergenic ingredients.

The line also contains both hydrosoluble and liposoluble plant actives, which helps give it skin moisturizing, softening and emollient properties making it ideal for use in products such as shampoos, bath and shower products, soaps, body milks and skincare ranges.

The company says that testing has proved that Herbamilk remains stable under strenuous conditions, including freeze and thaw cycles, high and low temperature ranges and centrifugation.

As the emulsifier range has been formulated to remain constant, this is said to allow formulators the ability to produce range extension by changing the plant oil or extract combination with the minimum of extra re-formulation work.

Cosmetochem will be previewing the range at Stand A2 of the In-Cosmetics show in Berlin, between 12 and 14 April, as well as at Stand 303 in the Personal Care Europe show to be held in Paris during the same time.
