L'Avenir brings egg technology to mass market

L'Avenir, specialists in problem solving skin care products, is
launching a new line of products at the US mass market featuring
its Ovasome Technology - which allows the inclusion of whole eggs
in topical cosmetic formulations, reports Simon Pitman.

The company says that it has reached an exclusive agreement with AdSouth Partners to market and distribute a range of skin care products that address a range of common skin problems and related conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, rosacea and wrinkles.

Ovasome Technology, a patent pending process, has been developed by the company to allow the use of whole eggs - including egg yolks in its formulations. Traditionally the risk of spoilage and contamination has meant that it has not been possible to include egg yolks in cosmetics formulations for lotion and creams.

The technology relies on enzymes to hydrolize the egg naturally, which is in turn said to capture all of the nutritional content. The process breaks down the egg's molecular structure to a size small enough to penetrate the skin. A unique carrier mechanism, derive from essential oils, is then used to carry the nutrients into the skin.

L'Avenir claims that this process has enabled it to become the first company to successfully develop a process that includes the whole egg, which in turn allows over 70 proteins, minerals and vitamins - normally found in egg - to be used safely in topical formulations.

"The egg is the only all-natural complete source of nutrition for life available," said Mike Marenick, president of L'Avenir and inventor of Ovasome Technology.

"There are numerous skin treatment creams that contain Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin E, Vitamin C and many other nutritional supplements. However these vitamins have been synthetically created or extracted from natural sources. With Ovasome Technology, we can incorporate all of these supplements from their natural source without any manipulation."

Marenick claims that he originally developed this patented technology for his mother, who suffered from psoriasis.

"To date, L'Avenir products have only been available through exclusive salons, spas and high-end pharmacies," said Dan M. DelaRosa, executive vice president of L'Avenir. "Through the development of this new product line, this technology which was previously only available to celebrities and high-end clientele, will now be available to the mass market consumer."

L'Avenir was founded in 1995 and has built up its business using the telvesion shopping networks. As well as the skin care treatments the product range includes hair care and cellulite treatments as well as shaving products that are all formulated using the Ovasome Technology.
