Artdeco uses patented technology in liquid silk skin care product

German cosmetics company Artdeco has launched a new skin care
product called Liquid Silk Base containing silk proteins and plant
extracts designed to intensively moisturise and protect the skin.

Karlsfeld-based Artdeco has launched an intensive moisturiser that contains high concentrations of liquid silk, made available for the first time using a patented process.

The procedure was developed by an Asian research team seeking to increase the effect previously achieved from pulverised silk proteins. Artdeco said that the positive effect of silk on the skin had been noted, historically, through the soft skin of Japanese silk weavers' hands.

Artdeco's Liquid Silk Base uses the Liquid Silk Crystals, which bind up to 50 times their own weight in moisture.

The company said that the rich emulsion protects against free radicals and skin problems caused by stress and claimed that extracts of gingko, Korean ginseng and aloe vera add vitality to even tired, dull skin.
