Phytoceuticals passes the secret on

PhytoCeuticals a developer and manufacturer of proprietary
formulations for skin care has terminated its longstanding contract
with Skinceuticals. Instead it has choosen Is Clinical by
Innovative Skincare to exclusively supply with its top secret
Vitamin C formulations.

"Skinceuticals has had exclusive access to our products for years now. They've used our formulations to build a very respected and successful brand of products. We think it's time other interested customers had that opportunity too," said Dr Mostafa Omar, president of PhytoCeuticals.

PhytoCeuticals, best known for stabilizing vitamin C in liquid form, will begin supplying its liquid vitamin C along with a number of other products to Is Clinical in the new year. The proprietary information relating to the formulations and methods for the manufacture of its stable vitamin C liquid and other products are to remain trade secrets.

Clinical evidence shows that precise applications of vitamin C, known for its anti-oxidants, can help prevent photo-aging in skin. Recent research conducted at Duke University Medical Center also shows that using vitamin C on the skin can stimulate collagen production and provide anti-oxidant protection.

However, not all vitamin C formulations can produce these benefits. Peer-reviewed clinical studies show that in order to be effective, a vitamin C formulation must contain several precise characteristics. It must contain L-ascorbic acid and be formulated at acid pH to ensure the vitamin C is absorbed by the skin. It must also contain at least a 10 per cent concentration of vitamin C and be stable.

Dr Omar stated that it was Innovative Skincare's ethical standards and involvement with charitable organisations that had attracted PhytoCeuticals to pass on the rights of its exclusive formulations.
