Ileos samples its latest creations
latest addition to its Flexpaq range ofsampling vehicles. The new
sachet, claimed to be unique in design, is not the only innovation
to be revealed by the company this month.
The new launches from the Flexpaq and Alliora divisions include consumer-friendly sachets, packaging for new treatments and innovative boxing creations for Estée Lauder's latest promotional activity.
The new Swift Open sachet is easy-to-open and is claimed to give a clean tear, making it suitable to target the elderly market. Believed to work well with popular E-Z Open sachets that function in wet environments, the new sachets have been made available in clear or foil based materials.
Treatment Paq, also designed by Flexpaq claims to provide an opportunity for manufacturers to offer products with an interactive approach. Treatment Paq is designed to include a deluxe facial treatment in the form of a water-activated soft pill, a tube filled with a water-based liquid such as witch hazel, and a thermoform tray. When mixed with the liquid from the tube, the small soft pill is designed to expand into a full-sized facial mask.
The thermoform tray, which features a recessed lip to secure an instruction card, performs double duty, holding the products in place before opening and serving as a receptacle in which to pour the water over the pill.
Flexpaq has also upgraded its bottle filling capability with an automatic filling system that uses sanitary gear pumps, a variable speed drive train, individual clutch brakes, and computerized controls. The capper utilises a star-wheel indexing system and automatic labeling offers front and back, and/or wraparound, labelingoptions.
A unique packaging carton for Estée Lauder has also been created by the company's carton and boxes manufacturer, Alliora. To promote its special mascara lineup with a free gift, Estée Lauder designed a polypropylene carton featuring photographic images with complex printing effects and finishes. A special high-gloss varnish was applied to the photos for an intense look that pops. In addition, the carton features offset printing, which includes the use of iridescent and pearlescent inks, as well as multiple hot stamping effects.
Alliora specialises in luxury folding cartons and set-up boxes made of paperboard, PET and polypropylene, a material the company introduced to the US fragrance and cosmetics market. The company offers technical know-how to create the innovative secondary packaging solutions they require. Decorative techniques include: offset printing, silk screen printing, varnishing, hot foil stamping, embossing and film application. In the US Alliora is located in New York and the division's three manufacturing facilities are in France.
Flexpaq is a full-service manufacturer of promotional sampling packaging, distributed in magazines, mailings and at point-of-sale, for the cosmetics, fragrance, personal care and OTC industries.
The Ileos Group in the US includes Axilone, makers of aluminum caps and closures; Alliora, manufacturers of cartons and boxes and Flexpaq.
