Leading international glass and plastic packaging supplier Gerresheimer is currently exhibiting at Taropak 2003 in Poznan, Poland, displaying a varied and innovative range of products for the personal care and fragrance industries.

Pharmaceutics has for some time formed the strongest segment of the Gerresheimer business, however, the other half of the Gerresheimer world is also on show to trade visitors this year: the field of perfumery and cosmetics. The group's Polish subsidiary Polfa, its German companies Bünder Glas, Spessart Glas, Tettauer Glashüttenwerke and Wisthoff and its Belgian company Nouvelles Verreries de Momignies, are each displaying their individual product ranges over the next few days (Hall 23B/EG, Stand 176) showing quality and innovation in glass and plastic and other materials .

To help perfumes, skincare products, nail varnishes and deodorants to achieve an unmistakable market platform, Gerresheimer says the subsidiaries use every refinement for shaping, colouring, satinising and printing of glass.

The company added that it remained confident that glass would remain the preferred packaging material for fine ingredients in the future, as it can combine protection with design variability and the ability to be combined with other materials for decorative effect.

The variety of innovations presented in Poznan ranges from classical elegance through playful romanticism to futuristic designs. Gerresheimer notes that individuality is no longer reserved to the upmarket, as manufacturers are distinguishing themselves from the growing competition with greater creativity than ever before due to rational production techniques.

And further differentiation is on the way, according to Gerresheimer, which says it already has designs for new flacon types, where the spray function can be fully and invisibly integrated in the body of the flacon.
