The Toronto-based manufacturer of the software that allows consumers to visualize the effect of surgery and anti-ageing treatments has signed deals in Brazil, Spain and Germany.

Users can up-load a photo of themselves and the ModiFace application will then simulate the effects of various treatments and procedures in a few seconds, claim the company.

These images can then be e mailed to friends and family or printed out, to facilitate the decision making process.

Through the international partnerships the virtual makeover tool has been translated in Spanish, Portuguese and German which means the company can target a wider audience.

"We are thrilled by the international interest in our online anti-aging and cosmetic surgery tools," said Dr. Parham Aarabi, CEO of ModiFace.

In Brazil ModiFace’s software has been taken on by Allergan Brazil which helps the company differentiate itself from competitors, according to marketing manager Gisele Cadaval.

"The Revitalizer visualization tool is a unique tool that really differentiates our business in Brazil from competitors' business. We were the first company (in Brazil) to bring this to market and patients love it," she said.

Spanish company Instituto MedicoEstético has also recently signed with ModiFace, and marketing manager MariaLuisa de la Rubia described the technology as representing ‘simplicity in visually demonstrating how it's possible to improve our personal appearance’.

iPhone compatible

The company recently released five of its applications for the Apple iPhone, allowing consumers to try out new looks on the move.

ModiFace’s iPhone applications include ‘new beauty’, which removes wrinkles and age spots on the user’s picture and the ‘weight mirror’, which simulates weight loss of up to 50 pounds. Users can also experiment with new hair colours, styles and make-up using three other applications.
