Are Northern European consumers more tuned in to the benefits of organics?
It is a view shared by many industry professionals set to attend the new trade event, Natural Products Scandinavia in October, who perceive Northern European consumers to be more informed about the benefits of natural products.

“We see the Scandinavian markets as key to our global development; there is a lot of thought leadership and early adoption regarding natural products and we know that consumers are well informed about the benefits of using natural products,” says Adrian Francis Scoffham of Austria’s Pure Green Brands GmbH.

Bioitalia's Marianna De Pasquale also expresses the same view, stating that; “Northern European consumers are more educated to organic and to an eco-friendly way of life, and we therefore expect to meet many buyers interested in our wide assortment of organic products.”

The trade show is to be held in Malmö, Sweden’s first Fairtrade city, which has coincidentally won much acclaim for its commitment to sustainability, renewable energy, and the goal of serving 100 per cent organic food in all of its public service catering by 2020.

It is the first Nordic event of its kind, to bring natural beauty, health foods and organic industries together under one roof.

According to event organisers Diversified Business Communications, almost 100 companies from across Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Estonia, Italy, and the UK are to exhibit, which it says; "reflects how seriously brands within the sector are taking the event."
