The global beauty industry is working hard to make circularity a mainstream reality, reinventing and reconsidering all aspects of complex supply chains. But what does the future truly hold as industry tries to close the loop?

CosmeticsDesign has rallied together leading experts in the field for its upcoming free-to-attend webinar Circular beauty - Sustainable sourcing | Green chemistry | Eco-design on April 14th to look at what the biggest challenges and opportunities are in the field.

The sustainable business agenda is now a circular business agenda for industries worldwide, including cosmetics and personal care – the beauty business. But what exactly does circular beauty look like? And what does the future hold for industry as it transitions towards closed-loop business models?

‘The world is facing a climate emergency’

The upcoming free-to-attend webinar will be led by CosmeticsDesign-Europe editor Kacey Culliney, who will put important questions to a high-level industry expert panel.

“This is a topic of paramount importance. The world is facing a climate emergency and governments, NGOs and the private sector worldwide know change needs to happen,” Culliney said.

She said beauty has always been an “incredibly agile and innovative industry” driven by an “exceptionally engaged consumer base”, so the opportunity to create meaningful change is truly there.

“It’s been clear for some time that the business case for sustainable beauty is strong, but circularity takes eco-efforts to the next level and requires a much more comprehensive look at very complex, far-reaching supply chains. Is the cosmetics and personal care industry ready to take on such a challenge? And what has it achieved so far? This is what we want to find out from this webinar.”

CosmeticsDesign will dig into important aspects of circular beauty – sustainable sourcing, green chemistry and eco-design – to consider the challenges facing industry today and strategies that can be used to overcome these. The webinar will also consider learnings from existing efforts and brainstorm important areas of opportunity as businesses advance circular efforts.
