Seppic showcases two green ingredients at in-cosmetics Global

Seppic, one ingredients supplier to the beauty and personal care industry that is keen to push its green credentials, used the opportunity of in-cosmetics Global to showcase various ingredients and concepts, and two of these in particular caught our eye.

We caught up with the company on its Emogreen ingredient, which is a biodegradable sensory alternative to dimethicone oil, and its Sepifine ingredient, which is a sustainably sourced texturizing powder.

Here, we explain why they grabbed our attention.

Emogreen

Seppic explains that Emogreen offers a sensory alternative to dimethicone in formulations, with the company suggesting that it offers comparable functionality.

“In comparison with the pivot reference (Dimethicone 350cps) EMOGREEN™ C69, tested at 10% in a cream-gel formula, shows the same properties during the spreading step,” the company asserts.

“Regarding the afterfeel, Dimethicone 350cps is perceived as softer but less comfortable than EMOGREEN™ C69.”

The ingredient is 100% natural origin, according to Seppic, and involves no GMO product. It’s earned COSMOS and Natrue certification, is biodegradable.

Sepifine

Seppic describes its functional Sepifine ingredient as a ‘next generation’ texturizing powder. It uses the byproduct of the Babassu nut (its mesocarp) to create a fine white powder, which offers a readily biodegradable texturizing solution for personal care formulators.

Again, this natural ingredient is non-GMO and the transparency of its supply is guaranteed by the Origins Brasil programme.
