Packaging show reveals major trends: ADF&PCD review

With 7,224 attending professionals, organisers suggest that it has become the key show for the European market in these sectors, with the figures representing a 12% growth in the event.
“Taking place on 31 January and 1 February 2018, ADF&PCD PARIS 2018 exceeded all its goals, both in terms of quantity (visitors & exhibitors) and quality,” say organisers.
“Nearly 500 exhibitors from were present in Paris, a growth of over 25% compared withthe 2017 edition.”
Key features
The show took place in the Porte de Versailles exposition centre, and offered a selection of key features:
Over 70 presentations and round tables with a focus on transfers of technologies, digital and sustainable
development;
two Awards ceremonies, which both drew sizeable crowds;
the Accelerator, featuring start-ups with a promising future;
the Innovation & Technology Theatre, a new conference area at the heart of the event dedicated to interactive product presentations;
Pentawards Exhibit, a showcase of the most creative achievements in packaging design in 2017
The PCD awards audience also benefited this year from an opening keynote by COTY Luxury on ‘Craftsmanship behind fragrance success stories’ by Gaël Le Bourgès, Director R&D Luxury Packaging Europe for Coty, who exclusively announced the group’s latest launch.
