‘Don’t wash your hair too often’
To kick things off Zoë says that people often worry about damaging their hair by washing it too much. While defining what can be ‘too much’ is difficult, Zoë says that daily shampooing is a good practice for optimum hair and scalp health.
Daily shampooing may not be an option for everyone, but Zoë says that her usual advice in the clinic is that people should “wash their hair as much as is possible for them.” While too much shampooing may strip out colour, it doesn’t affect hair or scalp health.
Passam also adds that there is no physiological reason that any hair type cannot be washed frequently.
