Beauty business boost
The Makeup Genius app has been downloaded more than 1 million times since its launch in May, and shows how the company is seeking to engage consumers amid slowing sales.
The technology is the result of almost two years of research by L’Oreal to find ways to stand out in the cosmetics market, and sees it team up with software firm Image Metrics.
“Digital is going to boost the business of beauty,” Agon said in an interview in Bloomberg. “We think it’s going to change everything.”
Agon has long been championing the digital category for the company, and this saw L’Oreal name its first chief digital officer back in March.
