Plastek UK adds three new injection machines
Plastek UK has expanded by adding three new injection machines, bringing their factory-floor total to 41.

The North Nottinghamshire-based firm installed the new Ferromatik machines in order to add increased production capacity. The firm is a European branch of the US-based Plastek group.

The company claims to have trebled its production capabilities since 1999, with eight new machines being installed since 2010. The development is a result of Plastek winning new business in the area.

General Manager Mick Shaw commented: “The stack cube mould technology can turn the cube in less than a second and this particular machine allows us to increase production capacity, as there are twice as many cavities in the mould."

"It also allows us to use moulding machines with half the clamping force to produce the same quantity of parts – the advantages being lower capital costs, parts costs and cycle times."
