First introduced back in 2010, Tubairless is said to offer numerous advantages including formula protection and a high level of user comfort, while ensuring that the entirety of the product is easily expelled and that the tube retains its shape after use.
Developed in response to demand from Pumpart's customers to make the airless technology visible, Tubairless Sensation allows the key ingredients within a formula, or items that inspired the product, to be showcased. Dry ingredients such as lavender or mint are placed in a pouch, which is itself placed inside the packaging during the last stage of the manufacturing process when the tube is sealed.
Pumpart highlights that the scent of the ingredients is distilled through the vent of the tube and that they move about when the tube is pressed, adding olfactory and aural dimensions to the product packaging.
A spokesperson for Pumpart told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com that the packaging could be particularly suitable for products for children, giving the example of a tube that integrated a lego toy that can then be cut out and kept once the product is used up.
Other items that can be integrated into the tube, according to Pumpart, include dry fruits, seeds or nuts to highlight the fact that a company uses natural ingredients, or even feathers, beads or sequins.
Tubairless Sensation can thus be adapted and customized to fit the needs of different brands, helping beauty and personal care products to stand out on crowded store shelves, with Pumpart describing it as a ‘multi-dimensional communication platform, going from the outside of the packaging to the inside.’
The spokesperson explained that Tubairless Sensation is suitable for use with a wide variety of products including shampoo, hair gel, body butter and facial skin care.
