The Nivea skin care maker has announced changes in its Corporate & Brands Communications department, as Thomas Schönen announces his departure from the company.

The 41 year old currently serves as vice president of Corporate & Brands Communications, and is leaving the company of his own accord at the end of the month to accept a new position outside of Beiersdorf.

Schönen has worked for the company for 14 years in various roles, including director of media Germany, marketing director Germany and managing director of Nivea Haus.

“He [Schönen] developed important milestones in brand and corporate communication with the Nivea Haus concept, the collaboration between Nivea for Men and Joachim Löw, and the communications for Nivea’s 100th anniversary celebrations,” said Thomas Quaas, chairman of the Board at Beiersdorf.

From May 1, 2012, and until a successor is appointed, Petra Rob will take over the position.
