RPC creates L’Oreal eye shadow packaging

Packaging supplier RPC adapted its post-moulding cooling technique in order to provide the packaging for L’Oreal’s Infallible eye shadow range.

The Infallible line is sold on its long lasting quality, and L’Oreal claims it ‘helps to fight make-up meltdown for up to 16 hours of wear’.

According to RPC Marolles, the packaging needed to reflect the style and convenience of the product as well as matching elegance with compactness.

The package consists of a transparent 40 by 40 mm jar, which has been injection moulded in PET-G.

Perfectly flat exterior

However, in order to achieve a perfectly flat exterior wall to the jar it was necessary to alter the cooling system used after moulding, RPC explained.

“This technically demanding process permitted a reduction in the cycle time inside the mould, without any shrinkage, for a superb finish that is further enhanced by then being hot stamped in silver,” the company explained.

The cap is also injection moulded using ABS, and then decorated with a silver lacquer.

This is not the first time the company has worked with L’Oreal. Earlier last year sister site of RPC Marolles, RPC Bramlage-Wiko developed a new closure system for the brand’s Garnier deodorant that allowed the product to stand up side down on the shelf.

In addition, it collaborated on the L’Oreal Garnier range on its Cellulite Crusher Roll-on which deeply massages the skin to ensure optimal product penetration, according to the company.
