French cosmetic industry body Cosmetics Valley is opening the doors on a cosmetics packaging conference tomorrow in Paris.

The event is being held at the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Versailles and the programme will take place in the evening, starting at 6pm.

Conducted only in French, the organisers say there is still a last chance to subscribe to the event, which costs €100 to attend. For further information click here.

L'Oreal and Shiseido will attend

Leading industry players already subscribed to the event include representatives from L’Oreal, Shiseido, Cegedis, Indigo by Valois and Sicofor, together with the event sponsor, packaging security provider Fidal.

The evening will be split up into four parts, including key presentations on packaging innovation by leading players, a debate concerning the main challenges facing the industry, a presentation by Fidal about brand and packaging security, followed by a cocktail networking event that ends at 9pm.

The key presentation section will include Groupe ISIPCA, the representative body for the perfume industry, Tebu-Bio, a company specialising in testing packaging materials and Bio-EC, a company that carries out skin testing.

Debate focusing on relationship between supplier and manufacturer

The debating section will include an analysis of the working relationship between a packaging supplier and a finished goods provider, using supplier Ileos and Shiseido as specific examples of how this can work.

The presentations will finish with Fidal lifting the lid on key issues it faces in its business area, including product differentiation, protection of intellectual rights for brands and how to protect the rights of packaging designs.

The event will finish with an hour-long cocktail networking opportunity, during which attendees will have the chance to make new contacts and ask further questions about the presentations.
