L’Oreal and Unilever are rumoured to be eying the Israeli cosmetics and toiletries manufacturer Careline.

Reuters said Maariv newspaper had reported on Tuesday that L’Oreal is in talks with generic drugmaker Perrrigo about buying Careline.

Perrrigo said last month that it is looking for a buyer for Careline, which describes itself as the largest manufacturer of cosmetics and toiletries in Israel.

A Careline spokesman told Maariv the company was in talks with several possible buyers but gave no further details. Reuters contacted both L’Oreal and Careline but neither company was immediately available for comment.
