Organic Monitor is holding a Natural Cosmetics Masterclass in London that will tackle the formulation and technical issues involved in using food ingredients in personal care products.

The masterclass will comprise of two interactive workshops and a networking lunch and will take place on the 8th July.

Masterclass on new food ingredients trend

The use of food ingredients in cosmetics products is a growing trend, with many product developers and formulators using edible ingredients. This masterclass will provide a workshop on the technical issues involved in formulating with food ingredients.

The class will review the food ingredients that can be used in cosmetic products, their potential benefits, safety and preservative properties. Companies who have adopted these methods will share their expertise, as case studies.

Masterclass on natural and organic cosmetic standards

There will also be a workshop on the practical implications of new standards in organic and natural cosmetics. This will include talks from Soil Association, who will explain the finalized Cosmos standard and NaTrue, who will speak about its 3 level standard.

Additionally, the speakers will cover practical issues such as adopting common standards in Europe and America. The workshop will also highlight the formulation, ingredient and technical issues involved in adopting these standards.

The Natural Cosmetics Masterclass will be led by Ms Judi Beerling, Technical Research Manager of Organic Monitor, who has over 30 years experience in cosmetics science.

The London event follows previous Organic Monitor workshops in New York (May), Munich (April), Paris (March) and Nuremburg (February).
