France-based ingredients supplier Alban Muller has launched two new
fruit-derived exfoliating scrubs as well as extending its Botamix
antioxidant range.

The Scrubami range now includes both a raspberry and a strawberry formulation, which the company describes as 'fruity and foody'. This ties in with the growing range of formulations focusing on natural ingredients that increasingly cross-over into the food category, the philosophy being that if it's good enough to eat, then it's good enough to use on the skin. The Strawberry and Raspberry Scrubamis have been eco-designed to have a compatible and natural appearance when used in a variety of scrub formulations, particularly gel products, the company says. A scrub for the body and one for the face The formulations both come in two granulometries that determine the extent of the exfoliation effect on the skin. The 500/1400 µm is made from whole grains and provides a more vigorous effect said to be particularly suitable for body scrub products, whereas the 300/500 µm contains crushed grains that is ideal for the softer effect desirable in facial scrubs. Ultimately both the scrubs are said to help eliminate dead cells amongst the superficial skin layers, providing a finer texture that should lead to a brighter and healthier-looking complexion. The two new scrubs bring the total number of formulations in the Scrubami range to ten, adding to the Almond, Nut, Walnut, Olive, Bamboo, Coconut, Luffa and Apricot formulations. Extends Botamix range Alban Muller has also recently extended its Botamix line of antioxidant formulations, which it first unveiled on the market back in February of this year, to include more targeted skin care formulations. The extended range now totals eleven products, which includes a Softening formulation, made up of marshmallow root, apricot and mallow flower; and an Anti-Ageing formulation made up of red vine and red ginseng, together with a Moisturising formulation that includes fig, flax seed and cotton seed. The extended range also includes some other interesting natural-based ingredients, such as yerba mate, hibiscus, burdock root, jasmine, centella and devil's apron.
