Conference concentrates on ageing skin in Asia

Ageing will be the focus for the conference at In-Cosmetics Asia as
large populations of the more developed markets in the region begin
to age.

Reed Exhibitions, the organisers of the In-Cosmetics events has announced that the conference programme will focus on skin ageing and ingredients developments in the anti-ageing field. The Asia-Pacific market is growing rapidly and tapping into the region's consumer goods boom is a key driver of for many of the big international personal care players. According to Euromonitor figures the Asia-Pacific market size currently stands at $5bn. Ageing market increases demand ​ With an increasingly ageing population, particularly in the mature markets of Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea, the proportion of this figure attributable to anti-ageing products will only grow, according to the organisers. In-Cosmetics Asia will take place in Bangkok on November 4 and the conference opens on the second day of the show. Key speakers will include the current president of the IFSCC (International Federation of the Society of Cosmetics Chemists) Prof Johann Wiechers and Dr Alain Khaiat the former vice president of Asia-Pacific research and development for Johnson & Johnson. Topics will span the spectrum of anti-ageing cosmetics covering the physiological changes in the skin during ageing, the efficacy of actives used in skin lightening treatments, new anti-ageing actives and natural ingredients. Earlier this spring anti-ageing was a similar focus as was natural ingredients at the In-Cosmetics show held in Amsterdam. The Cosmetic Science Conference program at the Amsterdam show was the best attended to date, according to the show organisers attracting more than 170 delegates
