Jan Marini Skin Research has launched an anti-aging product that
promises to make the skin appear younger by fighting discoloration
rather than wrinkles.

The company is hoping to standout among the ever expanding legions of anti-aging products on the beauty shelves by targeting specific needs. Jan Marini's newly released product is Age Intervention Enlighten, which contains Retinol - an ingredient that the firm claims discourages the production of excess melanin and fights existing discoloration. Role of color in aging The brightening effect and the evening out of skin tone help the skin appear younger and are just as dramatic in their impact as ingredients that fight wrinkles and lines, added the company. Jan Marini CEO Jan Marini said: "Women often associate fine lines and wrinkles with aging but discoloration is an even more visual sign of the aging process. "Age Intervention Enlighten is an exceptional brightening technology with de-aging agents that result in refined, rejuvenated and illuminated skin." Niche anti-aging focus The launch of the anti-aging product comes hot on the heels of the company's release of Age Intervention Transitions aimed specifically at women entering menopause. The product was designed to improve the appearance of the fine lines and adult acne that are often associated with the menopause. Both products hone in on specific niches within the anti-aging market and feed off the increasing popularity of medically-based skin care products. Jan Marini will be hoping that these launches turn its fortunes around after the company's Age Intervention Eyelash Enhancer was removed from the market. The FDA seized $2m worth of the product and ordered the company to stop selling it because it claimed to increase eyelash growth and was therefore classified as an unapproved and misbranded drug.
