The 2007 In-Cosmetics show is set to take place next week, with
ingredient manufacturers from across the globe embracing this years
'aphrodisia' theme and vying to entice attendees with ranges that
aim to innovate the cosmetics world.

Held at Porte de Versailles in Paris from the 17th -19th of April, the show will bring together industry professionals from the cosmetics industry, showcasing different materials and ingredients for the market. Suppliers, R&D, and production and marketing specialists are set to attend the event, held every year, and will be privy to many educational programmes such as marketing trend presentations and innovations seminars. Indeed many exhibitors have embraced this years 'in-focus' feature, titled Aphrodisia, which will explore the way the cosmetics industry can continue to embrace sexual desire within product development. Switzerland based company Cosmetochem is lifting the lid on ingredient combinations to create 'love potions' said to 'bring the promise of untold sensual and erotic pleasures from ancient cultures and exotic settings to cosmetic & toiletry products today'. Suppliers of botanical extracts and natural actives, the company is taking on the in-focus theme and suggesting that different plants symbolise desire and eroticism, and, when used in cosmetics, can trigger relaxation and sensuality. Likewise, plant extract specialist Greentech has teamed up with Stand Cosmetics Europe to develop a "Sex Appeal" personal care range. The 'Mixed Kit For a Perfect Date' range consists of three products that focus on 'kindling mutual desire' for both the male and female consumer and is made from plant extract formulations. Based in France, the company has extracted plant complexes that are thought to have aphrodisiac virtues, and, with Strand Cosmetics manufacturing expertise, have created three original formulation 'love potions' that are said to take both the man and woman through the entire dating process - a lipstick, after shave balm and shower cream. However, it is not just the aphrodisiac qualities of cosmetics that are getting attention this year. Many companies, such as Switzerland based chemicals company, Ciba, are showcasing new product ranges that are hoped to make in-roads in the industry. Targeting the ever-growing anti-aging segment, Eastman Chemicals has created a hair care range, developing its AG polymers that are already used in commercial hairspray and hair gel products worldwide and introducing the use of the polymers in sprayable and non-sprayable hair wax formulations. Other exhibitors include Silab, which is presenting a new tensor ingredient named Osilift, and Cognis Chemicals, which will embrace the in-focus theme - showcasing cosmetic formulations said heighten desire, whilst also presenting five new products for the face, body, suncare and colour cosmetic products. Registration for the event is available online at www.in-cosmetics.com.
