Eastman chemicals are gearing up for In-Cosmetics 2007 and are
planning to use the show as a platform for the launch of new
innovations developed for the hair care and the booming anti-aging
segment.

The annual show takes place every spring, allowing ingredient manufacturers from across the globe to display and promote their products whilst competing to stay ahead of the pack with new ingredient and manufacturing concepts. Eastman chemicals has announced that it will be attempting to push forward as the leading chemicals provider within the cosmetics and personal care industry, targeting cosmetics manufacturers with its latest technological advances in the lucrative areas of anti-aging and hair care. Previewing its latest developments, Eastman has expanded on its AG polymers that are used in commercial hairspray and hair gel products worldwide and will use In-Cosmetics to introduce the use of the polymers in sprayable and non-sprayable hair wax formulations. According to the company, the polymers are ideally suited for use in hair styling products due to their water-dispersible, film-forming polyesters that enable products to be water-resistant. In addition, the polymers offer low tack, fast drying times, high gloss and curl retention qualities, with the company stating that the AG polymers offer polymeric emulsification properties as well as film formation in hair waxes. Eastman is also continuing to capitalise on the most prominent beauty trend within the industry: combating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The company said it will further cementing the importance of its Nutrilayer formula that was introduced at In-Cosmetics 2006. The effects of Nutrilayer, following a 12-week efficacy trial will be displayed at the Eastman booth at the 2007 event, with results showing that when used at one per cent and five per cent concentrations, Nutrilayer shows a significant reduction in wrinkle appearance. In-Cosmetics will take place in Versailles, Paris in April and will host some of the world's leading suppliers, R&D, production and marketing specialists whilst also showing a comprehensive educational programme into future scientific advances, emerging trends and regulations.
