By Terry is to produce and market a skincare range to be on shelves
by September 2004. Although previously integrating skincare
properties into make-up, this is the first sign that the creator of
Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics is to branch further into personal
care.

With the focus on well-being for the latest foundation launch, the niche make-up brand By Terry, is to introduce two new non-colour cosmetics in January. Baume de Rose is a rose-based lip and nail balm, while Stick Hydralift is an anti-aging lip balm in stick form.

Although the company has integrated skincare properties into its makeup products before, this is its first step towards developing a complete skincare range.

Working from her base in Paris, Terry de Gunzburg provides consultations and made-to-order cosmetics prepared in her own lab. Extending her new, more commercial line within Printemps and Bon Marché reflects the industry's rapid progression towards using more natural based ingredients.

Teint Opulent, the new foundation from By Terry contains waxes from five flowers; rose, narcissus, tuberose, jasmine and violet, all used for their skincare properties. With SPF 15, the product also contains seaweed extract for its anti-free radical properties, and trademarked High-Lumicoat corrective pigment technology.

The eight-shade line was designed for dry, mature or devitalized skin, and is claimed to be particularly suitable for the stresses of winter. The product is to be sold world-wide by 2004.
