Procter & Gamble has halved carbon dioxide emissions since 2002

Procter and Gamble (P&G) have released their 2009 Sustainability Report which highlights 50 per cent reductions in CO2 emissions, water consumption, and waste disposal since 2002.

The report, titled “Designed to Matter”, outlines P&G’s progress in improving the environmental profile of products and operations, and delivery of several new, sustainable product innovations.

"Around the world, P&G employees have made sustainability a core part of their everyday work, developing innovative solutions and delivering meaningful results across the business” said Len Sauers, P&G Vice President of Global Sustainability.

The company has said it aims to further improve its operational footprint by focusing on every aspect of the supply chain and manufacturing operations.
