Symrise is to release a inventory of personal care products to help manufacturers and suppliers keep abreast of industry developments.

The global fragrance and flavours supplier has modelled the publication on its Genealogy of Fragrance, the 14th edition of which was released last year.

According to the company, 'The Symrise Genealogy of Personal Care' - to be released by the end of September - is an industry first.

The inventory will include sections on fragrances and their subgroups, and a products section that will focus on hair care and shampoo, deodorant and antiperspirant - which is split into masculine and feminine sections - and body wash and shower gel.

The products section offers information about new product launches in 2006 as well as the best sellers in Europe and the US, using 2006 market research data.

Symrise claims that its publication will provide a thoroughly detailed overview of the products on the market.

The personal care sector features an increasingly extensive range of new global releases each year, and the current trend for niche and one-off products is becoming ever more popular.

Symrise hopes that its inventory will help keep manufacturers and suppliers up to date on the latest industry developments.

"The cosmetics industry and its suppliers need to speak the same language and communicate with each other clearly if they want to develop innovative and successful products," explained the company.

Symrise is a German based company provides raw materials and active ingredients for the cosmetics industry, specialising in ingredients with anti-ageing and anti-microbial properties.
