Datamonitor reveals 'exciting' sunscreen innovation trends
According to Ramaa, sun care represents the strongest growth category within the skin care segment over the next few years and is a very exciting one in terms of innovation.
The analyst says it is a combination of advancements in technology and consumers’ beauty and well-being needs that is influencing new product development.
"Indigestible coverage is one of the areas we think sun care will go in the next few years," she tells this publication in jam packed exhibition hall on Day 1 of the event.
"UV protection is not just in facial sunscreens anymore but also body, nail and skin care too," she adds.
The market analyst also reveals that developments on protection diet supplements or the likes of harmonized water that you drink before you expose yourself to the sun are all in progress.
"It's all very exciting," she says.
