One of the leading shows on the industry events calendar, In-Cosmetics, is readying to open its door in Amsterdam next month with the promise of showcasing more innovations than ever before.

Taking place from 15 - 17 April at the Amsterdam RAI, the event will host over 430 exhibitors and this year will showcase a new Innovation Zone that organisers Reed Exhibitions are hoping will prove to be a major attraction.

The event will also provide a platform for the CosmeticsDesign team to launch video coverage, with a series of interviews being filmed at the event with key players, which will later be uploaded onto the site in the form of podcasts.

The team will also be combing the event to cherry-pick all the highlights and most significant innovations unveiled at the event, all of which will be covered in significant detail by our news team.

The Innovation Zone is being sponsored by Astron Clinica in association with market information provider Mintel and aims to provide a 'one-stop' location for industry professionals to identify the key product and technology innovations for this year.

The feature will also highlight one of the key trends in the industry - the blurring of food and cosmetic products - by offering visitors the chance to participate in a series of 'Beauty Tasting Sessions'.

Scientific conferences will highlight R&D advances

As ever, the event will be backed up by a comprehensive scientific conference programme that will help to highlight the latest research and development findings.

The conference programme will be staggered over two days, featuring a full session focusing on the naturals category scheduled for 16 April and another full days' conference programme focusing on skin ageing on 17 April.

Backing up the conference programme is a full agenda of marketing presentations, focusing on the key trends that are making the industry tick at the moment - of particular interest for anyone involved in the marketing of products.

This year a whole day, 15 April, will be devoted to green issues and their importance to the beauty industry, while presentations given 16 - 17 April will focus on how the beauty industry is influenced by other industries, including food and supplements, salons and spas, and plastic surgery.

Innovations seminars will highlight product developments

The innovations seminars will also give further credence to the show's claim to be 'an information highway', highlighting commercial applications of products and services from key players such as Ciba, CP Kelco, DSM and Evonik Goldschmidt.

Following up on the 2006 In-Focus on Amazonia, this year the focus will be Utopia - 'the vast world of personal care products with a philosophy'.

The stand will feature key players in the field of R&D and industry consultancy who will be helping to explain about the purpose of personal care and cosmetic products, as well as key objectives such as the pursuit of the 'perfect skin' and how various technologies are being developed to help achieve this goal.

On-line registration is currently available for visitors at www.in-cosmetics.com , with a final deadline of 7 April.
