Marchesini targeted the cosmetics industry at the Interpack trade show in Germany with complete jar and perfume packaging lines.

The Italy-based manufacturer specializes in the development of complete lines for the entire packaging process in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.

Perfume line operates at 120 products/minute

The perfume line that the company presented at Interpack operates at a speed of 120 products per minute and is comprised of the Neri RA800 rotary labeler, the MA255L cartoner and the MF912 wrapper/bundler.

Marchesini claims that these machines all offer cosmetic manufacturers versatility and flexibility individually and as a team.

At the start of the line the RA800 is specifically designed for the cosmetics market and offers flexibility, sturdiness, efficiency and reliability, according to the company.

Among the features highlighted is the cylinder design which allows for the removal of the central tower to help improve the view for inspection of the labeling process.

A photocell is also fitted to the cylinder creating a system of product orientation that Marchesini claims ensures a very reliable labeling process.

In terms of flexibility, there is the possibility of installing brushless motors for conveyor plate rotation along with the multi-application feature already present on the RO series.

After passing the labeler the products reach the MA255L cartoner which is built with a balcony structure designed to provide versatility and efficiency while helping operators maintain good posture.

The machine also offers advanced safety systems including a self-diagnosis function to help users rapidly and safely correct any faults.

Finally located at the end of the perfume line is the updated MF912 wrapping/bundling machine.

Products are fed into the machine using lateral belts which accompany the cartons up to the lifting zone avoiding any rubbing against the mechanical parts of the machine.

Marchesini said the MF912 is ideally suited for companies looking for careful wrapping and high production speeds.

Designed specifically for the cosmetics sector the machine has sealing plate pads that can be shaped to give the seal an attractive appearance which is all important in the image conscious perfume world.

Jar line for cosmetics applications

Alongside the perfume line Marchesini was presenting its jar line at Interpack which includes the MV545 filling/capping machine, the Neri SL200-2T labeler and the MAV50 vertical cartoner.

The company said the highlight is to be found at the end the line with the MAV50, which was built in response to growing demand.

The cartons are ejected from a horizontal magazine which rotates them so they can be filled from above with the jars that are picked up and placed inside.

Once on the conveyor belt the cartons are prevented from hitting any static parts of the machine so as to ensure that no scratches appear.

Overall the machine is designed with carton handling and protection in mind as well as the health of the operators as ergonomics is also a key consideration.
