The winners of the Innocos 2016 Innovation Leader of the Year awards have been announced ahead of next month’s World Beauty Innovation Summit.

The winners mark the three individuals in the cosmetics, fragrances, personal care and oral care industries that have made the most outstanding contribution in their fields.

The winners were selected by a panel of four judges and the organisers with the aim of honouring and recognizing their achievements, and include three professionals from three different categories – marketing, product and packaging.

And the winners are… Marketing

Winner: Angela Cretu, General Manager Turkey, Group VP Africa & Middle East, Avon Cosmetics

Cretu was acknowledged for helping to redesign and restructure the 120 year old Avon business successfully, as well as implementing a new marketing direction tailored towards digital.

The Runner-up was Sian Sutherland, Co-Creator of Mio and Mama Mio, now Consultant Brand Creato and the finalist was​ Veronique Gohmann, Director of Marketing and Communication, Yves Rocher

Product

Winner: Des Fernandes, Scientific Advisor, Environ Skin Care.

The judges awarded Fernandes the top prize because of his in-depth knowledge of human skin and associated cosmetic challenges, resulting in the Step Up approach used in salons by skin care experts shows innovation combining medical knowledge with cosmetic formulation.

The runner up in this category went to Geeta Chaudhary, COO, Maruva Cosmetics P/L, while the finalist was awarded to Joseph Chang, Chief Scientific Officer and Executive VP, Product Development, Nu Skin Enterprises.

Packaging

Winner: ​John Morgan,​ Senior Scientist, Open Innovation, Amway.

Upon choosing Morgan for this award, the judges noted he had scooped the prize for his major involvement with the Crescendo design of the Artistry line of prestige beauty products and the leadership of his team in Intelligent Package Design.

Meanwhile the runner-up went to Craig Dubitsky, Founder& CEO, Hello Products and the finalist was Abdullah Sahin, CEO, Agrio Kozmetik ve Tarım.

 

 

The awards will be presented on June 9 at the Imperial Riding School Renaissance Hotel in Vienna, Austria, during the World Beauty Innovation Summit Innocos.
