Velox named European distributor of SK Chemicals’ cosmetics packaging copolymers

The distribution agreement, which was established at the beginning of the year, concerns all Skygreen products suitable for cosmetics packaging applications.

The PETG resins (Glycol Modified Polyethylene Terephthalate) can be used to make bottles for soaps and shampoos, cream pots and perfume caps, according to a Velox spokesperson.

High performance resins​

Skygreen can be processed in a number of ways including sheet extrusion, injection moulding, extrusion-blow moulding and tube or profile extrusion.

The resins have excellent clarity and colour, according to SK Chemicals, as well as being highly resistant to stress whitening.

Furthermore, Skygreen demonstrates a toughness that is superior to that of acrylic, and a chemical resistance superior to that of polycarbonate, the company claims.

Increasing European footprint of Skygreen​

According to the companies involved, the signing of the distribution agreement is intended to increase the footprint of Skygreen across Europe, with a greater presence and increased penetration.

Additionally, the agreement will allow Velox to better serve its customers in the cosmetics industry with a wider range of products.

The Velox spokesperson told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com that the company, which is not the only European distributor of Skygreen, will distribute the resins to several countries including Germany, France, Greece, and the UK.

In addition, Velox distributes Skygreen for all applications, including household and food packaging, in Scandinavia.

Since its inception in 1993, Velox has grown to have a substantial presence in Europe, with 14 offices serving customers in the majority of countries within the EU as well as Turkey.
