Seams shrinking in aerosol packaging: now ‘invisible’
The ‘DigiStripe’ innovation will apparently prove a game changer in aerosol packaging design, as it allows for a reduction of the visible seam to 1.5mm.
The previous minimum, according to the company, was 5mm, and made for a clearly visible seam on the cans.
“Decreasing this visible seam not only improves the visual appearance of the can for the end consumer, but also improves the external side seam varnish strip application and increases the print area on a tinplate can; giving marketers more flexibility in the can artwork positioning,” Colep states.
The innovation arrives alongside several other strides forward in aerosol design, with digital printing from other companies opening up capability for 360 degree design, and Sleever International’s opaque white film for aluminium cans.
