Luxe Pack Monaco to focus on emerging markets, sustainability and regulation
According to the show's organisers, this year, the 25th edition of Luxe Pack Monaco will emphasise areas of sustainability, the positioning of luxury brands in emerging markets and cosmetic regulation issues.

Set to be held at the Grimaldi Forum from the 24th to 26th October, the event’s organisers are said to be expecting more than 6300 visitors over the three days, of which 50 of the 370 exhibitors, are said to be first timers.

The annual event is a place for exhibitors to promote new products and applications whilst industry professionals get the opportunity to network and view the latest in packaging developments and conferences on key issues and trends in the sector.

Companies like Bormioli Luigi, DuPont, Fushion Packaging, Lumson, and Merck are amongst the cosmetic players set to exhibit this year.

Comprehensive programme

Presentations will include ‘The male luxury cosmetics sector -  and what packaging trends are likely to influence sales’ whereby the speakers say; “New perspectives will be highlighted to inspire you and to help you develop a more effective approach to a male clientele.”

Other talks will focus on packaging innovations, sustainable development issues, and a round table will discuss the ‘New 2013 European cosmetics regulations 2013 - Issues and Perspectives on the second day of the event with Bertil Heerink, president of Cosmetics Europe on the list to attend.

Finally on the third day and last day, Jonas Hoffmann and Ivan Coste-Maniere, co-authors of 'luxury strategy in action' will look at how a 'Luxury brand can be positioned in emerging markets: China, India, and Brazil' in an effort they say to explore the branding practices in the three so-called emerging markets.

Award for sustainable efforts

As well as the seminars, the Luxe Pack in green exhibition area returns, enabling both exhibitors and visitors to share information about the latest developments and new product launches that integrate sustainable development constraints. The in green Award will also present itself at the show.

A prize will be given for the most innovative solution submitted to the awards, with the show organisers stressing that prospective entries should incorporate one or more sustainable development criteria, as well as ensuring compliance with the event’s charter.

The winner will then be chosen by a jury of sustainable development professionals working in various aspects of the industry, with the ceremony taking place on the last day of the event.

A move to focus on the sustainable

In recent years Luxe Pack has focused on sustainability, as the organisers say the segment has come under increasing pressure from both the consumer and government legislators worldwide.

"As the call for companies to develop a more environmentally responsible approach to the development of packaging, this trend has become increasingly important to the future development of all packaging for the luxury segment."
