Aerosol Forum readies to open doors to biggest ever event

The Aerosol Forum 2011 will open on 8th March, with a key focus on the latest innovations in the aerosol and dispensing category.

This is the fifth edition of the annual show and event organiser Oriex says that attendance has grown steadily each year, thanks to the inclusion of exhibitor names such as Aptar, Graham Packaging, Plasticum, Cosmed and Amcor Flexibles.

Featuring an exhibition area, workshops, the Paris Aerosol Awards and a full conference programme, the two-day event will be held at the Cité des Sciences et de lindustrie and is expected to include more than 900 participants from this vital niche area of packaging.

The conference and workshop programme is divided up over the course of the two days and will start with the innovation workshop, followed by three conference segments, one of which is specifically devoted to the personal care and cosmetics segment.

Innovation workshop

The workshop innovation programme will be chaired by Michel Fontaine, president of the French Aerosol Council (CFA). Of the three key presentations in this section, the presentations concerning plastic aerosols and technical and niche applications will be most interesting to cosmetic and personal care professionals.

The presentation on Plastic Aerosols will focus on threats and opportunities in this area and will be overseen by Veronique Liabeuf, director of Enjoy, as well as Charles Duclaus, packaging and environmental manager for L’Oreal France.

The presentation of Technical and niche applications for aerosols and dispensers will be given by Xavier Camidebach, sales director at Precision, as well as Jo Jackson, marketing manager for Colep CCL.

Comsetics Aerosolss Prospects

On Marth 9th, the conference programme will start off with a segment devoted to the personal care industry, entitled Cosmetic Aerosols: Prospects.

Chaired by Isabelle Lepeltier, head of packaging & development, L'Oréal and Philippe Barnouin, from L’Oreal’s research & expertise packaging center, this programme will include a look at greener dispensing systems, aerosol applications specifically designed for cosmetics, sun care dispensing systems, spray quality and bi power valves.

Other presentations will concentrate on the design aspect of aerosol packaging, including finishes such as direct laser engraving, the latest decorative finishes, together with the latest technological innovations for shaped aerosol cans.

Paris Aerosol Awards

This segment of the conference will be proceeded by the packaging by the Paris Aerosol Awards ceremony, which aims to reward the best innovations in the category and will also be accompanied by technical presentations to detail the winning products.
