The sixth edition of Makeup Paris opens its doors today
The success of the Makeup Paris event led to the three other international events, and today marks the opening of the sixth show in the organiser’s home town.

The two day event is being held at Carousel du Louvre in the heart of the city, targets professionals from the formulation and packaging industry, as well as full-service specialists and designers in this still growing and lucrative segment of the industry.

This year the concept for the event remains true to previous years, featuring live makeup demonstrations, workshops, networking opportunities, as well as a full two-day conference programme.

Workshop programme

The two day workshop programme will include an educational presentation aimed at informing visitors about the latest trends, technologies and launches available in the category.

Five presentations on the first day will include one given by Merck that will focus on creating colours using its RonaFlair concept, together with another presentation from consultancy Nellyrodi about ‘Colour Decoding’.

The second day also features a full day with three workshops, including a second presentation by Merck about formulation trends in the lipstick category, another by Sensient about dispersion pigments for make-up and a third by Oleos about creating skin care dimension using oil-based actives.

Conference programme

Likewise, the conference schedule also features a packed two-day programme that will include a morning session on beauty on the digital area and an afternoon session focused on Brazil for the first day, while a series of seven diverse presentations will be given on the second day.

On the first morning of the show the conference programme will focus on the digital theme with a presentation about the digital transformation of businesses, before moving on to a roundtable discussion about this topic.

The morning will then be wrapped up by a presentation about the Asian blogging phenomenon and how that is influencing the cosmetics market there.

The afternoon session is entirely devoted to the still fast growing Brazil market, featuring presentations from Joao Carlos Basilio da Silva, president of Brazil cosmetics industry association, ABIHPEC, together with three other presentations about the potential of the market, regulations and the consumer landscape.

On the second day, conference presentation highlights will include a look at the Korea market, packaging trends, brand evolution and nail polish.
