The North American cosmetics and personal care market will be the in-focus country at this year’s in-cosmetics event which takes place in Paris from 12-14 April.

The country focus at the annual event takes a look at the dynamic and most promising markets for cosmetics companies, and this year show organisers announce that the largest of the lot, representing 18% of the industry, will take centre stage.

According to Euromonitor figures, the USA’s beauty and personal care market’s retail value is currently worth $78.1bn, and is expected to shoot up to $89.5bn by 2019.

Should the sector achieve growth predictions, it will have increased by almost 35 percent in just 10 years.

Hugely important market

“The US market is hugely important to the industry. We believe the content to be delivered in Paris will help businesses achieve success in the country, by providing unique insights into the trends driving the next generation of personal care products in North America,” says Cathy Laporte, Exhibition Director.

“Not only that, our US-based exhibitors will be given a great opportunity to showcase raw materials and ingredients to a global audience who are looking for innovative new ideas that can help increase sales at home and abroad.”

At the show, which this year will be supported by the US Department of Commerce, there will be an educational programme which will have a focus on US growth, and include a number of sessions devoted to helping cosmetics and personal care companies grow their businesses in the country over the coming years.

Among industry experts presenting on the US market will be David Tyrrell, Global Skincare Analyst at Mintel, who will run a session on US trends and the local and global impacts that they have.

Meanwhile, Vera Sandarova of Kline & Company will also discuss personal care ingredients market changes, trends and the outlook on niche ingredients in the US market.

As usual with the country focus at in-cosmetics, there will also be a dedicated pavilion focusing solely on the US, with raw material and ingredients businesses from across the region.

Show organisers estimate that over 44 US-based ingredients companies will take their place on the show floor.
