The Natural and Organics Products Europe tradeshow has expanded its Natural Beauty Pavilion for 2010 to encompass the spa industry on the back of increased demand.

Taking place in London on 11-12 April, the Natural Beauty and Spa Pavilion is one of the fastest growing areas of the show, according to organizers Diversified Business Communications.

Featuring over 100 international exhibitors, the expanded exhibition area includes companies such as Burt’s Bees, Melvita and Lavera.

Natural Beauty and Spa Theatre

Running alongside the show is the Natural Beauty and Spa Theatre, a series of seminars organized by Organic Monitor, featuring speakers from Bulldog, Weleda and Dr Bronner’s.

The two-day programme encompasses a variety of topics aiming to advise companies on how to effectively market their products, understanding their target audience, and exploring trends within the sector.

Fairtrade beauty products are becoming more evident, according to the Fairtrade Foundation, which is hosting a presentation exploring how a beauty product can be certified, what Fairtrade ingredients can be used and the benefits of their usage.

Following on from this is a series of case studies presented by Michael Bronner of Dr Bronner’s Magic Soaps looking at beauty companies that have adopted Fairtrade status, and an overview of current Fairtrade projects in developing countries.

A presentation from Organic Monitor’s Armajit Sahota will concern the challenges and future outlook of the European market for natural and organic beauty products, discussing the latest trends and developments in this area.

Rounding off the seminar programme is an update on natural and organic certification given by representatives from the Soil Association, Cosmos, NaTrue and Natural Products Association (NPA).

Awards

Also at the show are the Organic Beauty Awards hosted by the Soil Association. Open to any beauty product certified by the Soil Association, categories include Best Organic Facial Skincare Product and Best Organic Bodycare product.
