The organisers of Makeup Paris are planning to build on both the strength and size of this event for the colour cosmetics category by this year introducing three tailor-made workshops.

This year’s event will take place on June 12th and 13th at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, and will include more exhibitors, a comprehensive conference programme, together with three tailor-made workshops.

The first workshop will take place at 3pm on Thursday 12th of June, is being managed by fine chemicals giant Dow Corning and will focus on throwing more light on the type of colour cosmetics formulations we can expect to see in the future.

Demonstrating how silicones can improve colour cosmetics

In particular Dow Corning will be demonstrating how many of its silicone-based solutions can contribute to sensory attributes that consumers can see and feel.

In particular these solutions will focus on facial, lip and eye make-up products that can serve to increase colour intensity, improve transfer resistance, as well as heightened sensory benefits such novel textures.

The second of those workshops will be managed by ingredient giant BASF and will take place at 10am on Friday 13th June focusing on Colour Trends for 2016 by drilling deep into consumer behaviour and analyzing what colour cosmetics buyers want.

Colour trends for 2016

This workshop will present information conducted by BASF in partnership with market researcher TNS infratest, using research information that is built around creativity, authenticity, energy, professionalism and perfection.

According to the market researcher, this structure provides the basis for insight that has taken into consideration the emotional and functional needs of the various consumer groups, ultimately projecting the type of colour palette we may expect to see within the category for 2016.

The third and final workshop will take place at 1pm on Friday June 13th and will be run by consultancy companies Thema_Design and Iris Intuition Consultancy, and will be focusing on how intuition can be used as a tool to give way to creativity and innovation.

This presentation will concentrate on the technical and scientific basis for this theory, and this theory can be implemented in a structured way to enhance both creativity and innovation in the work place.
