Bionov picked up the NuW Excellence 'Beauty Innovation of the year' award for its Cellulight ingredient at the Health Ingredients Europe event in Frankfurt last week.
The finalists were judged by a leading panel of industry experts from the likes of Danone, Unilever and Euromonitor who evaluated entries on their ability to demonstrate and drive innovation.
"BIONOV were addressing a widely recognized problem and a clear need with an easily understandable benefit, that is well supported and stems from a very accepted natural source – melons – and they also provide clear regulatory routes to market," says the chairman of judges, Peter Wennstrom on the company's win.
“This Award recognizes our innovation program for helping our customers in claims and differentiation on the market”, adds Benoit Lemaire, Business & Marketing Director at Bionov.
The ingredient derived from melon fruit is, according to Lemaire, the first active supported by oral clinical study that demonstrates the effects against cellulite by oral route.
