Stephenson Personal Care launches sustainable emulsifier range
Stephenson Personal Care has launched a range of emulsifiers which it claims are more sustainable thanks to the use of a cold processing technique.

The range is called Durosoft and is a patent-pending, RSPO certified line of emulsifiers that was recently debuted at in-cosmetics in Paris.

The development team at Stephenson Personal Care was charged with creating a range that would meet increasingly important criteria for more sustainable and eco-friendly products.

Making natural and organic sustainable

As the natural and organic trend has evolved, consumer pressure has also increased to insure that such products are sourced from sustainable sources and that the carbon footprint is minimised throughout the supply chain.

And as part of their research, the development team at Stephenson Personal Care have pinpointed that one of the most energy consuming aspects of producing many cosmetics formulations is the heating and cooling stages of the production.

Cutting down on the need for this process, not only helps cosmetics manufacturers to save time, energy and costs, but also serves to reduce the environmental footprint significantly.

The widest HLB range

Durasoft is a range of naturally derived polyglyceral esters that has been developed to give the widest HLB range, which in turn gives great stability.

And perhaps most importantly, the emulsifier can be cold processed, while still meeting the performance criteria associated with many hot processed products.

It also has a wide range of product applications, including water-thin lotions, creams and shower oils, while also helping to boost manufacturers claims over sustainability on product labelling and marketing campaigns.
