Merck launches new skin care actives
Ingredients supplier Merck has launched new cosmetics actives and invited CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com down to give us an exclusive insight on the skin care ingredients.

We spoke with Dr Dagmar Kleefeld, Performance Materials’ global marketing manager, who introduced us to the new RonaCare Bronzyl tanner, the RonaCare Pristine Bright skin lightener, and the RonaCare PoppySE slimming active.

They are all active ingredients with an anti-ageing effect and are a part of Merck’s product portfolio expansion

Kleefeld explains that while RonaCare Bronzyl creates an even, natural-looking tan; RonaCare Pristine Bright produces a porcelain-like complexion.

The active ingredients take into account different, and in some cases, culturally-driven preferences, says Kleefeld.

Using the product slogan “Skin wears summer”, Merck is marketing RonaCare Bronzyl predominantly in Europe and the US. It can be incorporated into day and night creams, multifunctional body care and anti-aging products.

Reducing skin pigmentation, RonaCare Pristine Bright prevents tanning of the skin, decreases hyperpigmentation and freshens skin colour. Merck will be using the slogan “Skin goes porcelain” to launch the skin lightener in an established, yet important market growing at annual average rate of five per cent.

Both new products will be presented to the public for the first time at the SEPAWA Congress from October 9-11 in Fulda, Germany.

RonaCare Poppy SE uses natural poppy seed extract and is suited for use in anti-cellulite, as well as a firming ingredient in other skin care products.
