Lipotec new testing facility announced
Ingredient manufacturer Lipotec has opened a new clinical testing facility for in vivo testing at its Barcelona site.

The Lubrizol-owned company has announced that the new facility is set to cater for research into the advancement of its personal care ingredients portfolio and centre its efforts on producing in vivo testing data.

“The new facility will rely on new innovative software to perform image analysis of skin characteristics including wrinkles, spots, pigmentation, etc. as well as measurement of moisturization and trans epidermal water loss or sebum content of the skin and make-up studies, among others, Lipotec explains.

The new laboratories, comprising of 116 square metres, will sit alongside the company’s existing 192 square meters of in vitro testing facilities, Lipotec has said.

Efficient and informative testing

Lipotec has explained that a push towards faster testing and creating the best methods to generate appropriate efficacy testing methods are the key motivations behind the opening.

Our goal is to define the best design for the studies performed on our ingredients, to gain flexibility in terms of number of formulations and/or concentrations and to speed the testing process, accelerating the time of launching new products to the market,” said Jean Claude Deneuville, General Manager Skin Care & Dermal.

“For this reason, we have a constantly growing bank of diversified volunteers that cover all our needs.”

Creative formulation

Lipotec has said that it hopes the new facility will allow it to continue its drive to offer its customers greater creativity in formulation.

“Following Lubrizol’s Complete Advanced Skincare approach of accelerating the creativity of the customers and becoming a partner for them, Lipotec continuously evolves renewing their facilities to improve service and to propose novel formulated solutions to assist their clients in offering a beautiful and healthy skin experience to the consumer.”
